ESL Steel Limited’s HR team organised a 20-day long sporting event commemorating National Sports Day. The tournament was named ‘Smash’ 2022. This event was inaugurated on the 25th of August by the ExCo members of ESL. During the inauguration ceremony, they talked about the prominence of sports and the learnings one can incorporate from it in daily life. The tournament involved several indoor games such as Carom, Chess, Table Tennis, Claw Fight, Badminton, Tug of War, and Treasure Hunt. Over 400 employees from various departments of the plant participated in this tournament, exhibiting their unparalleled enthusiasm and passion for the game. It was an admirable initiative by the company to promote healthy living and smart thinking.
It is noteworthy that competitive spirit ignited a novel spark amongst the participants, leading to a holistic engagement from their end. The end of the tournament saw more than 44 winners, in different games and their categories. The closing ceremony of the event was organised after 20 days. The winners were awarded trophies and certificates for their impeccable performance in the tournament. It was one of ESL’s many employee engagement activities that inspired them to do well both on and off the field.
