Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said that there is a need to advance the tribal population in the field of education and employment and also provide it with better medical facilities. “Their land is important in the survival of the tribals. There is a need to act according to the changing times. The decrease in the population of tribals has to be stopped. For this concrete measures are needed. Priority should be given to resolve pending issues at the earliest in the interest of tribals,” he said.

A meeting has been organized today on a virtual platform to reactivate Jharkhand Tribal Advisory Council. In the next meeting, work will be done on the action plan with the consent of all members. The action plan to give direction to the State will be done through Jharkhand Tribal Advisory Council. This is the first meeting of TAC after government formation. “TAC rules were not made in the State in 20 years. The present government made the rules and duly nominated all the members,” said the CM while chairing at the 23rd Jharkhand Tribal Advisory Council meeting.

The Chief Minister said that if different areas would be developed, only then Jharkhand can be raised in the category of a leading State. “To give a separate identity to the State, the role of tribals has to be decided. The council will prove to be helpful in preparing a better action plan for the tribal community. Special thinking needs to be done for the 27 per cent tribals of Jharkhand, their social, economic, educational and political aspects will have to be strengthened. To make tribals a part of the all-round development of the State, many parameters have to be fixed. Suggestions of all the members will play an important role in this. Together we have to connect the tribal community with the mainstream of development in a planned manner,” he said.

Champai Soren, Vice President, Jharkhand Tribal Advisory Council said, “We have to benefit the tribals through various laws. The next meeting will be held as per the suggestion of all the members to realize the basic objectives of the council. Work will be done in the interest of Jharkhand and tribals. It has been 20 years since the formation of the State, tribal upliftment, economic system of tribals, lack of population have not been resolved. Now, under the Jharkhand Tribal Advisory Council, after receiving all the suggestions, efforts will be made to work in the interest of the tribals residing in the State,” he added.
