A group of Scientists from Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) including Dr Rakesh Kumar from BAU, Dr Kaushik Majumdar from International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI), and another scientist from International Maize and wheat improvement centre (CIMMYT), has invented software named Nutrient Expert for Hybrid Maize for the development of agriculture, by seeing the deficiency of nutrition in soil.
According to Dr RK Singh, this software relays about nutritional recommendation for the crop on the basis of location, situation, place, weather and land. It also provides scientific principles for optimally supplying crops with nutrients as and when needed for specific fields in particular cropping season. The software can foretell the amount of fertilizers to be used according to the land, crop and various other factor of agriculture. Hence, farmers guide or tutorial and helps in yielding.
“The conventional farmer who lacks technical know how can not be benefited by this software, so Block Agriculture (BO) Block Technology Management (BTM) Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) these can take advantage of this software,” said Dr Singh.
Dr T Satyanarayana, Deputy Director of IPNI gave presentation on the software Nutrient Expert for Hybrid Maize. He discussed how to use this software in detail influenced and taught farmers and other people about this software.
One day interactive training session on Nutrient Expert for Fertiliser was inaugurated by Dr MP Pandey, Vice- chancellor of BAU.
