Feeling dejected after the unveiling of Jharkhand connection with banned Indian Muzahideen operatives, social organisations will observe social harmony week and begin door-to-door campaign spreading views of Maulana Azad on his birth anniversary in Ranchi.
One such organisation Jharkhand Tanzeem has already launched public relation drive to create awareness against terrorism among the Muslims. “To mark the birth anniversary of Mulana Abul Kalam Azad, a week long programme is being observed by us as he was the first to object the two nation theory during partition,” said President of Anjuman Islamia Ibraar Ahmed.
According to Ahmed, it was Azad’s initiative which prevented Muslims to leave the Country. “Azad’s thinking needs to be propagated as he had assured the Muslims that the Country will remain secular as majority of the people here are secular,” he added. “As the Muslim community is being victimized by fanaticism, we desperately need to follow Azad,” said Ahmed.
Anjuman Islamia will also reach out to the people through Street Plays and documentary films spreading views of Azad. Various programmes like mushayara, blood donation, painting competition, and seminar as well as health camps will also be organised. As many as 5000 students will also be participating in a rally starting from Sainik Market which will go up to Zila School. A seminar will also be organized on November 11 where eminent intellectuals of Muslim community are to share their views on the topic ‘Education and Harmony’.
“HRD minister Geetashree Oraon has given her consent to take part in the seminar,” said programme coordinator Naseer Afsar. Jharkhand Tanzeem has already started a special public relation drive against terrorism where house owners of some of the Muslim areas will be told to take a record of those staying on rent in their homes.
