A 25 years old sub inspector of police Sunil Yadav died on the spot while four other cops with him doing night patrol were injured when their patrol car hit a break down road side truck from behind on the Lesliganj Panki road at 12.30 on the night of Thursday said the deputy superintendent of police Lesliganj Anup Kr Baraik.
One of the four injured cops following his critical condition has been sent to RIMS Ranchi while three other injured cops are undergoing treatment in the Medinirai medical college hospital in Daltonganj said Baraik.
The police patrol car is a total mutilated and twisted now but the service revolver of the sub inspector and four rifles of the cops are intact.
Baraik said after hitting the road side break down truck the police patrol car fell into a deep ditch and the police patrol car went upside down. Rescue and relief operation began within half an hour of this hit from behind the incident.
Yadav was of the 2018 batch.
Sources said this is the third episode in which three police personnel have died in road mishap in the past two weeks.
