Former Senate member Pratul Shahdeo on Wednesday met Ranchi University Vice Chancellor, Ramesh Kumar Pandey and handed over a memorandum regarding 100 per cent enrollment of students in below poverty line (BPL) seats.
Shahdeo mentioned in the memorandum that despite the clear instructions of the University, most of the colleges have not yet provided any information showing the number of BPL seats in their notice board.
Some colleges have not even mentioned it in their prospectus.Shahdeo urged the VC to ensure enrollment in BPL seats in minority colleges too. He urged that the University should make a clear policy for enrollment in BPL seats.
While taking immediate action, Pandey instructed all the Principals that there should be 100 per cent admission in BPL seats and there should be no ifs and buts. A number of university officers were present on the occasion.
