Elaborate security arrangements would be in place to ensure safety of thousands of delegates from India and abroad who would be arriving in the State capital for the Global Agriculture and Food Summit to be held at Khelgaon in Ranchi on November 29 and 30.

“Five SP rank officers would be deputed around the venue for law and order duty. The security ring would be more officer-oriented with a large part of the deployed personnel being of the rank of sub-inspectors and above,” said Ranchi SSP Anish Gupta.

The officers would be responsible for interacting with the delegates and guiding them, he added.

The SSP informed that the participants would be frisked at the entry gates adding several materials would not be allowed. The district administration would also create a space for depositing belongings of the entrants at the gate. The equipment to be taken inside by the journalists would also be regulated.

The administration said that a special traffic plan would be in place for the Khelgaon area during the event. The busses carrying the farmers from distant places would be stationed at the JAP 10 ground. Passes would be issued for the parking of vehicles. The bypass route would be the main route used by the visitors.

Ranchi DC Rai Mahimapat Ray stated that elaborate arrangement has been made regarding traffic and law and order. “I request the framer not to bring items which could not be kept safely,” he said. Citizens should have ample time in their hands while crossing the Khelgaon area in case they get caught in atraffic congestion, the DC said.
