In a major blow to the AJSU Party on Sunday, one of the founder members and senior vice president Praveen Prabhakar left the party and joined the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP). He also made some serious allegations against his former party leaders. As Assembly elections are round the corners in Jharkhand, leaders of small and regional political parties, looking for greener pastures have started getting attracted towards BJP.

Prabhakar was also accompanied by hundreds of his supporters while he was inducted into the saffron fold at the BJP headquarters in Ranchi. “During this juncture of my political career, I felt that political stability is a must for the development of Jharkhand and given the present circumstances, only BJP can provide a stable government in this state,” said Prabhakar.

According to Prabhakar, joining any party depends on the ideology. “It is the BJP which under the leadership of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee gave a separate Jharkhand to us and I believe that it is the BJP which can take the state back to right tracks.”

Prabhakar also said that due to the policies of the BJP and the leadership being provided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he got attracted towards the party and

decided to join it.

“The need of a stable government is being felt as even after 14 years of the state being carved out of Bihar. Despite having all the natural resources with us, we have not been able to develop the State due to unstable governments. It is high time we should make efforts for a stable government which only BJP can provide,” Prabhakar added.

Prabhakar alleged that Congress and other parties have only tried to cheat the people of the state. Ranchi MlA CP Singh in his welcome speech said that unlike other parties, it is only BJP which treats its men as family members where a party worker, who was mocked by opponent parties as a tea vendor, can also become a Prime Minister and Narendra Modi is a live example of it. “It is only BJP where a person can think of going to rags to the riches,” said Singh.

When asked about the possible resentment among the party workers due to induction of large number of outsiders into the party fold, state BJP president Ravindra Rai said that it is the need of the hour as we are trying to establish a political alternative in the state. We all have to strengthen our digestive system in the interest of the State,” said Rai.

Several others workers such as Sunil Sharma, former Ward Councilor Arvind Singh Deol, Nakul Tirkey, Ashok Pandey, Rahul Chaurdhary, Shankar Sinha, Arjun Ram along with social activist Jitendra Singh marched towards the BJP headquarters in Ranchi with hundreds of their supporters along with Praveen Prabhakar dancing on the tunes of nagaras and shouting slogans in favour of

the party.

Taking to the media persons after the induction ceremony, Rai said that newly appointed national president of BJP Amit Shah will be on a 24 hour visit to Ranchi on August 24 and address the party workers from all over the State in order to put a new life in them for the coming Assembly elections. “Amit Shah will be addressing a gathering of over 12000 party workers right from the panchayat level to the district level in Ranchi coming from all over the state,” said Rai.

Rai also said that the party workers with the help of people coming from all over the state will gherao the Jharkhand Assembly on August 5 during the session to mark their protest to show the government its ugly face. “The party legislators will corner the government inside the Assembly while the MPs on the other hand will raise their voice inside the Parliament,” said Rai.

The BJP has also formed a committee to prepare the manifesto on which the party will go for the coming Assembly Elections. Senior party leader Saryu Roy has been appointed convener who will be assisted by 16 other senior party leaders including former Chief Minister Arjun Munda, Vice President Deepak Prakash, Palamu MP VD Ram etc.
