Police were deployed for the second consecutive day at the India Oil petrol pump and at the residence of an alleged killer Raj Mohun Poloo who on Saturday allegedly killed his neighbour Aloke over a land dispute.
Enraged mob on Saturday destroyed two fuel meter stands of India Oil petrol pump which belongs to Poloo.
Palamu SP Patel Mayur said the deployment has been continued to avert any untoward incident.
He added the backlash would have been far more disastrous had the security forces not taken quick steps.
The deployment is for those who do not matter in this case but may become a victim of mob fury. A posse of armed guards stood in total alertness at the residence of this Raj Mohun Poloo who continues to be hiding in some unknown location.
News reports said that Poloo was a Congress leader while the party has disowned him and does not consider him.
