Security has been beefed up in and around the twin city Bokaro and Dhanbad on the occasion of New Year celebrations and the police have geared up to nab public tipplers.
“Drinking in public is a nuisance with a serious potential to result in brawls and quarrels. This also affects the peace and tranquillity of the area and creates problems in maintaining law and order,” said a senior police official.
Special teams would be deputed to maintain law and order and nab the people drinking at the public places, he said. Cops have been also told to focus on eve teasing and vigil at picnic spots. Adequate arrangements have been made so that no picnic spot remain untouched by the police during New Year eve. Cops in plain clothes will also be deployed to keep a close eye on eve-teasing, said an official.
Special squads of cops will carry out patrolling the city roads after the dusk meanwhile officers were also asked to conduct the surprise inspection of hotels and clubs, said the official adding patrolling teams will also include women constables.
