Students studying in schools and colleges will be given training in community policing in Jharkhand. For this, 10 schools are to be selected in each district. The selected students of these schools will be given training in community policing. Students from the community will cooperate with the police stations concerned. Officials of the Department of Home and Prisons informed Chief Minister Hemant Soren during the review meeting of the department here on Thursday.

The CM said that it is a big challenge to reduce crime in the State, but through better policing, success can be achieved. “It is necessary that the police win the trust of the common masses. Crime and criminals can be kept under control by establishing good relations with people and constant communication with them. Police should do such work that the public respects them as their real heroes,” he said.

The CM said that cyber-crime is increasing rapidly today. “Create separate systems for control of cyber criminals and research of cyber-crime. For this, the appointment process should be started by creating posts so that the pace of controlling cyber-crime is accelerated.

There are sanctioned posts of about 36,000 Home Guard jawans in the State. About 19,000 of them are given allowance on daily work basis. Due to this, many of them are unable to get work every day. The department should work to explore the possibilities for taking service of Home Guard jawans as security personnel in government departments and other government undertakings,” he added.

The CM said that around 1.70 lakh cases are pending in the courts. The execution of cases is not being done on time. This is due to the delay in getting legal advice. He said that when almost all the police stations in the State have an online system, then prepare an action plan to have a panel of legal experts at the headquarters. Law experts will give legal advice to the police regarding the hearing and execution of pending promises in various districts.

The department was informed that Dial 112 is being launched for all kinds of criminal incidents including crime, firefighting and police service. Under this, the general public can pass their problems and incidents to the police.

The CM said that all necessary steps should be taken to maintain law and order and to clamp down on criminals and criminals. He said that for this, the process of restoration of all the vacant posts should be completed.

He instructed to hire 49 scientists for the Fire Department and Forensic Lab and to purchase sniffer dogs and trekking dogs.
