Hectic schedule of Chief Minister Raghubar Das seems to have sapped his time for healthy lifestyle as the CM missed a crucial schedule on Thursday morning when he was supposed to attend a free yoga camp co-organised by Patanjali Yog Sansthan. The CM was expected to arrive at 7am to join yoga trainers and learn the art of healthy living.
Nonetheless, late night schedule of Das apparently caused him to complete his sleep to rejuvenate himself for another day of busy schedule. A sort of curtain raiser for the mega show that is all set to enthrall entire world, the event was organized at Civil Services Institute to apprise the CM besides elected representatives and government officials about the various Yoga asanas.
“CM was awake till 3am because few people had come to meet him. So he could not get up in the morning and he has to go to Chaibasa at 9 am. But he told us to continue and also assured that he will become part of the awakening drive in a more extensive way,” said Health Minister, Ramchandra Chandravanshi.
Notably, the CM’s schedule of Wednesday made him travel to Odisha besides taking part in the signing of memorandum of understanding with Central Coalfields limited followed by cabinet meeting in the evening. However, media persons had called upon the CM on late Wednesday evening to register protest about alleged manhandling of a photojournalist.
Notwithstanding the miss on the part of CM, the event was also skipped by people’s representatives as just three, including the health minister, attended the camp where entire establishment was on its toes and senior government officials were present to give company to the CM. Besides Chandravanshi, Minister, Drinking Water and Sanitation Department, Chandra Prakash Chaudhary and Dhanbad MlA, Raj Sinha were present to draw inspirations for a healthy living through yoga tips. However, the Dhanbad MlA defended the absence of people’s representatives in the camp which was organized three-days before Yoga Divas.
“They (representatives) would be in their field and they must have been doing Yoga at their places,” said Sinha.Earlier, the ambience around the venue was abuzz with activities of security forces, senior government officials and the organizers which also included Ranchi chapter of ‘Art of living’. Overwhelming presence of security forces alongwith medical facilities with ambulances stationed just outside the makeshift entry point of the premises of the Institute accentuated the seriousness of the event which focused on inculcating healthy practices among people of all class.
As many as three instructors imparted yoga tips and shared the genesis of India’s greatest gift to the world besides stressing upon maintaining the sanctity of the centuries old exercise.Principal secretaries, K Vidyasagar; SK Sathpathy; NN Sinha; Rajbala Verma; Director RIMS, SK Chaudhary; NUHM Mission Director, Ashish Singhmar were among others to attend the free camp.
