After the Supreme Court dismissed petitions seeking Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into Special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Judge BH loya's death, Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Thursday said that the verdict is a slap on the Congress party.

Addressing a press meet this afternoon at Sonari aerodrome, Das came down heavily on the Congress. He termed the petitions were filed with a political agenda.

“Congress and its leaders were trying to politicise the judiciary. The apex court has slammed the petitioners who were demanding a SIT probe into the death of Judge. I welcome the decision of the court. The verdict has exposed the Congress once again. They have tried to create such an environment that develops negative emotions,” noted Das.

He went to add that an attempt to malign senior leaders of the party like Amit Shah has failed, it’s clear that the judiciary cannot be made a field for political battles.

It may be mentioned that loya had allegedly died of cardiac arrest in Nagpur on December 1, 2014, when he was attending the wedding of a colleague's daughter. loya's son had on January 14 said in Mumbai that his father had died of natural causes.

Answering questions related to Maoists activities in the district, the Chief Minister said that the Central police force and the personnel of the State Police were engaged with full commitment to create Naxal-free State.

“I am happy to say that three districts of the State have been freed from insurgency in the 44 affected areas of the country. State Government and Jharkhand Police aim to create Naxal-free Jharkhand in 2018,” he noted.

In the context of lease bandobasti, the Chief Minister said that East Singhbhum will act as a model in this direction. He said that the district administration and the government are quick to solve every problem of the people. Those who have residential papers since 01/01/85 can benefit from the government's lease plan.

He further said the fourth phase of the investment summit will take place on April 27 at Deogarh. The CM refused to give details on proposed investment plans during the summit however, added that investments will be made in food processing and garment manufacturing sectors. Momentum Jharkhand has so far seen investment to the tune of Rs 6269 crores in the State.
