Parliamentary Affairs Minister Saryu Roy has written a letter to Speaker Dinesh Oraon and urged him to consult different political parties so that smooth functioning of the Assembly in future can be ensured. Expressing his displeasure over the fate of the Winter Session that passed without any discussion, the Minister termed the next Budget Session extremely important.
“Role of Speaker in conducting business in the House is important. It seems that fresh initiative is required from the Speaker’s side in ending the deadlock perceived between the Government and the Opposition.
Being the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, I would request you to initiate formal consultation with different parties in this regard,” said Roy in his letter.
The Minister’s sentiments hold importance in the light of washed-out session of the Assembly over CNT-SPT deadlock which, he fears, would continue during the upcoming Budget Session as well.
Roy, while referring to the subtle changes and course corrections being made by the Centre in its financial policies, underlined the role of the
legislature in implementing those properly in the State.
