Badkagaon Congress MlA Nirmala Devi’s desperate call to save his jailed husband and former Minister in the Hemant Soren coalition Government Yogendra Sao seems not getting heard.
The isolated MlA backed by frail support of the Congress party has not even got appointment to meet Chief Minister Raghubar Das despite “days of effort.” The MlA who is fighting her battle against imposition of stringent CCA against Sao by the Government few days back finally reached her party office with barrage of complaints.
“I have been told (probably by Yogendra Sao) not to talk to the media and meet the Chief Minister first. For the last two days I am trying for an appointment with him but no one is listening to me. I don’t know what to do now,” said Nirmala Devi when reporters surrounded her on Wednesday.
The MlA is claiming to be fighting for her “innocent husband who has been framed wrongly for raising people’s voice” and slapped with CCA. “We are people’s representative and our voters expect from us to remain present when any movement for their cause is taking place. What he has done was just raising the issue of larger public interest. This was not an issue worthy of CCA. If at all the provisions of the Act are to be imposed it should have been against the banned naxal outfits like TPC and others,” she went on.
Sao’s track record is not good either and he has been booked for keeping association with criminal outfits like Pahari Cheeta and others previously. This had cost him the Ministerial berth and the party instead of him gave ticket to Nirmala Devi. latest in the series is his said involvement in organising agitation at Tandwa of Hazaribagh.The former MlA and his supporters while demanding more compensation for the displaced farmers from the power major NTPC and also about alleged irregularities committed by the company in the construction work there had organised a protest at Tandwa which later turned violent. The Government based on the report sent by the Hazaribagh DC-cum- SDM had imposed CCA against Sao who is still languishing in jail.
The party extended its support for her cause.
