Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Season 4 has made its presence felt across the country, and the message is clear – innovation is not just limited to big cities; it belongs to every youth who wants to solve a problem. After generating enthusiasm in schools and colleges across the north, south and north-east, the programme has now reached Bihar and Jharkhand, where hundreds of students are coming together to create new and useful things. At the centre of this new chapter were three prestigious institutions of Ranchi – Gossner College, St. Xavier’s College and Marwari College, where the Design Thinking Open House transformed classrooms into ideation labs.
Meanwhile, students from IIT Patna participated virtually, proving that geographical boundaries are no longer a barrier in shaping India’s future. For Suraj, a student of Marwari College, the workshop was an eye-opening experience. “This was the first time for me to see that problems around me can be turned into real projects with the right kind of thinking,” he said. I was always aware of local problems – lack of sanitation and waste management – but now I felt I could do something about it. His notebooks were filled with initial sketches of waste sorting solutions for small towns.
