Rupa Tirkey’s parents meet Guv, demand CBI probe

PNS

Deceased Sub Inspector of Jharkhand police Rupa Tirkey’s parents today knocked the door of Raj Bhawan, seeking a CBI probe in the unnatural death of their daughter and alleged that she was murdered. State BJP Women’s Cell president Arti Kujur also accompanied them at the Raj Bhawan.

Handing over a memorandum to Governor, Droupadi Mumru, Rupa’s mother Padmavati Orain, said her daughter, who was working as in-charge of Mahila Police Station in Sahibganj district was murdered on May 3, 2021, at her official residence.

“Since Sahibganj police administration has been trying to declare the murder as suicide, I demanded a CBI inquiry into the murder of the daughter. But the police-administration, instead of catching the killers of my daughter, put a question mark on the character of the daughter itself, giving it the form of suicide. Further, they the police are charging my husband i.e. Roopa’s father of being an accused in the alleged suicide. They want to save the real accused in the murder of my daughter,” she said.

Rupa’s mother added  the Sahebganj police administration is being negligent from the beginning, as a result of which the body of her daughter Rupa was not kept safe when the post-mortem was done, nor was the post-mortem done by the experts in the medical college.

“When we saw her body in the room, foam was also coming out of her nose, due to which we suspect that she was also poisoned. And, she was also assaulted, the marks of which were clearly visible on her body at that time. There were also two rope marks on the neck, which have been ignored in the post-mortem report. The presence of heavy bleeding also raises doubts whether my daughter has been gang-raped? The last rites of my daughter took place on 5th May 2021. And it has been 45 days now, if the re-post mortem is not done  soon then all evidence will be lost,” she added.

On this occasion Rupa’s father Devanand Oraon, sister Nirmala Tirkey, uncle Prem Tirkey, Teerth Nath Akash, social worker Kudarsi Munda, Manjulata were present.
