The Hemant Soren-led Government in State is all set to complete a year since it was formed on December 29 last year. The JMM, Congress, RJD government plans to come out with a report card on how it has strived hard to live up to the expectations of people. The main function will be held at State Capital, where Chief Minister Hemant Soren will formally launch the loan waiver scheme for farmers, but the ruling parties have asked MLAs to highlight government schemes at their respective constituencies marking the completion of one year of government.

Congress MLA from Jharia, Purnima Neeraj Singh said, “Ruling party lawmakers will celebrate one year of government at respective constituencies. We will get the details about the programme, which we have to organise by December 25. However, the biggest credit of present government is loan waiver scheme for farmers’ loan. The JMM, Congress alliance in their manifesto has announced to waive farmers agriculture loan which the government has fulfilled within one year.”

She said, “The alliance MLAs will reach to people highlighting government promise at the same time we will expose how the Centre government is anti-farmers by brining three farm laws.”

The Jharia MLA claimed that apart from waiving farm loan, the Hemant Soren Government has done tremendous work during Covid 19 times despite limitations. Singh said, “Due to State Government’s better management in handling Covid 19 pandemic, the corona recovery rate is much higher than many states. Also the mortality rate is much lower than national average and other states and the credit goes to Hemant Soren government for checking the spread of pandemic.”

Echoing the views of Singh, JMM legislator from Tamar Vikash Singh Munda said, “The biggest achievement of this government is handling the Covid pandemic crisis. The Soren government has successfully handled the migration issue arising due to Covid pandemic by arranging train and air services for migrant workers from metropolitan cities to Jharkhand. Back in home the government has also created employment opportunities for migrant workers reaching State.” Munda, claimed that he will highlight government initiatives in their assembly constituency on December 29.

The two leaders claimed that developmental pace will gain momentum from next year as several roads, bridges and other schemes are pending due to Covid 19 pandemic.

Back in Ranchi, the main function will be held in State Capital which will be addressed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, Agriculture Minister Badal and others.

The Government has got Rs  2,000 crore budgetary sanction to waive loans in the current fiscal and the decision will benefit nearly 7.61 lakh farmers of the state who borrowed loans between April 1, 2014 and March 31, 2020.
