The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday said that the Jharkhand Government should put a ban on the illegal slaughter houses in the State as done by the newly appointed UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Talking to media persons here, RSS ‘Sah Prant Karyawah’ Rakesh lal also added that priests and saints should abstain from getting indulged in political controversies.

“We appreciate the steps taken by the UP Chief Minister as it has been a demand of the RSS since long to ban slaughter houses as it is related to Hindu sentiments. We would like the Jharkhand  Government to take similar steps and ban illegal slaughter houses all over the State,” said lal.

Referring to the recent visit of Ranchi Archbishop Cardinal Telesphore Toppo to Governor Droupadi Murmu demanding that the amendments to the two controversial land acts be scrapped citing violating interest of the tribal population, lal said that priests and saints should refrain from getting indulged into political controversies and focus more on religious activities.

lal said that presently a total of 660 ‘Shakhas’ are being organised at 416 places all over Jharkhand while18 ‘Milan’ and 62 ‘Mandali’ groups are meeting regularly on weekly and monthly basis respectively.

“In addition to that, more and more people are getting connected to the RSS in one way or the other. In the recent days, as many as 1,04,256 new memberships were taken by people in the different parts of the country who are of 14-40 age groups,” added lal.

Besides, lal said that several people are also attached to RSS through its website which could be gauged by the fact that more than 12 lakh new faces have liked the page on social media. “Sangh has also succeeded in making its message reach out to people in 5509 blocks out of 6239 blocks in the country,” said lal. “We also succeeded in selling as many as 6,17,000 books in the last few years,” he added.

Referring to the proposals passed by All India National Representatives Assembly, Sangh’s supreme decision taking body, held at Coimbatore on Thursday, lal expressed concern over increasing Islamisation of schools, putting a curb on the celebration of Durga Puja and Saraswati Puja and decreasing population of Hindus in West Bengal. “Hinduism is in danger in Bengal,” he said.

“West Bengal is in the grip of Jihadi forces. The President as well as the Government of India must intervene to save Hindu community,” said lal.
