Miscreants looted the house of a contractor in Sector-12 in Bokaro Steel City on Thursday night and decamped with ornaments and other valuables, police said.
According to the police two miscreants barged into the house of Pramod Tewary at midnight after breaking the door lock on Thursday night.
They sprayed some chemical on the face of his wife and other family members. Suddenly his son Krishna Kant Tewary (14) woke up but the goons took him on a sharp weapon point and looted ornaments of gold and silver including `5,000 in cash along with other precious items in the house.
The spray whiff rendered other family members unconscious and goons committed loot of worth of `5 lakhs. Before escaping they locked the front door of the house, said Tewary.
An FIR has been lodged in the sector-12 Police station and police is investigating the matter.
