Additional Chief Secretary Planning-cum-Finance Department and Development Commissioner Amit Khare on Wednesday said in FY 2016-17, Rs 32,277.41 crore has been spent under planned heads till March 28, which is 88.1 per cent of Planned Budget Provisions (36,673.91 crore). As per the current trends, more than 90 per cent fund is expected to be expensed by March 31.
Khare said that Rs 31,287.08 crore was expensed in the last financial year 2015-16 which included loan installment of Rs 6,136.37 crore under UDAY Yojana. The departments which have expensed more than 90 per cent in the current FY include Road Construction (99.92%), Urban Development (98.66%), Welfare (97.16%), Drinking Water and Sanitation (94.73%), Higher and Technical Education (93.66%), Rural Development (92.40%) and Building Construction (91.15%).
