A peace cum communal harmony meet was preponed at Satbarwa police station for communal amity and understanding at Baree village. The meet was originally slated for February 15. The Feb 15 date was agreed upon by members of both the communities at Baree village under Satbarwa police station. However the Feb 15 meet was preponed and held on Feb 7.

DSP Prabhat Ranjan Barwar chaired this meeting with members of both the communities on the premise of the Satbarwa police station. He said, “It is true the two communities had suggested Feb 15 date for meet on peace and harmony at Baree village which had suffered a jolt on Feb 3 during the procession of a festival belonging to the majority community where members of the minority community had raised hackles about the route of the procession.”Barwar said, “The decision to hold the peace cum harmony meet on Feb 15 was jointly taken to which the Satbarwa police had no choice but to wait for it but some developments there made us to prepone this meet and we got it held on Feb 7 wherein participated 50 to 60 members drawn from both the communities’. Barwar referred to some communal overtones in the neighbourhood Sindoorya village too.

Barwar who has to his credit solving many ticklish issues having communal overtones here said the February 7 meet in the premise of the SAtbarwa police station saw the two sides flinging charges at each other all for route. The majority community’s assertion was that no route /road be non grata for them while the minority community ‘s stand was that no new route be added to the passage of religious procession.
