The Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Steel City played host to distinguished Rotary leaders, Past International President Shekhar Mehta and Past International Director Kamal Sanghvi, along with Sonal Sanghvi, in a captivating rendezvous event.
The event, a blend of information and entertainment, revolved around Rotary's global impact. Mehta and Sanghvi took the stage to share insights into the core values that unite the Rotary community: service, fellowship, diversity, integrity, and leadership. These values are not mere words but the guiding principles.
The talk show was nothing short of a grand success. The charismatic personalities and profound knowledge of the Rotary stalwarts held the audience in rapt attention. They regaled the gathering with anecdotes from their Rotary journey, highlighting the challenges they encountered and how they surmounted them with unwavering determination.
The significance of "service above self," a central Rotary value, resonated throughout the event. Mehta and Sanghvi inspired everyone present to contribute to society in their own capacities, emphasizing that even small actions can have a profound impact. The evening featured engaging activities, including a rapid-fire round and dum charades, centered around Rotary and led by the distinguished guests.
Not content with past achievements, Shekhar Mehta and Kamal Sanghvi have embarked on a new Rotary mission: to promote literacy across India. They urge every individual to help make at least one person literate, thereby transforming lives through education.
The event served as a reminder that leaders are not simply born; they are shaped by their experiences, trials, and a deep-seated desire to effect positive change. Program Chair Alpa Parikh, AG Rtn. Hetal Adesara, President Rtn. Amrita Vakharia, Secretary Preeti Khara, Joint Secretary Sukanya Das, Treasurer Krishna Kharia, Foundation Chair Deepak Dokania, and Udey Dhir found the encounter with Rotary leaders to be profoundly enriching.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all seven Rotary Clubs of Jamshedpur and the Rotary Chaibasa Club. The evening concluded with a delightful musical performance, adding a melodious note to an inspirational evening.
In bringing together Rotary leaders of such distinction, the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur Steel City has not only motivated its members but has also reinforced the enduring spirit of service and fellowship that defines Rotary International. This event is a testament to Rotary's commitment to making a difference in communities worldwide.
