“The hospital, equipped with the latest medical equipment and ward facilities, will accommodate 240 beds while the Brambe building will be having 100-150 bed strength,” an official source said requesting anonymity. RIMS Director Dr Tulsi Mahto said that the rush of patients prevailing at the institution will get managed after the super-speciality hospital gets functional.
“From now onwards, RIMS Director has got the authority to take decisions over issues happening within the medical institution premises,” confirmed the Minister. With such power, Dr Mahto can consider on granting job to Poonam Kumari, the widow of late Dr Chandra Bhusan Kumar who passed away a year ago.
The action taken report over 21 agendas of this 34th board meeting was presented before the Health Minister. Singh said, “All the contractual workers of RIMS will now onwards receive fixed salary regularised by the State labour department.”
“All the contractual workers cannot be regularized following merely one yardstick. We will discuss over the matter again in our next meeting scheduled with the health department officials,” said RIMS Director Dr Mahto.
Notably, 531 nurse posts were sanctioned at RIMS of which 370 nurses are working at present. An advertisement for the vacant positions for nurses will soon be notified by the RIMS Director. According to the Minister, they are planning to employ nurses from South India for such vacancies.
The 235 para-medicos working on contractual basis will soon be absorbed on permanent basis. Adding joy to the RIMS doctors, the governing body also decided to provide them salary equivalent to the one paid to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) doctors. RIMS has also a plan of appointing the doctors who were interviewed recently.
There is good news for the RIMS technical staffs too who have been working for more than 65 years as their working tenure has been extended for six months. All financial matters of RIMS, including Dental College’s funds will be covered in the medical institution’s budget to be forwarded to the State Government for approval.
