The ongoing fight between the Kunti and Baccha factions of Janata Mazdoor Sangh (JMS), for over a decade, ended with the Registrar of trade unions of Jharkhand giving recognition to the Kunti faction as real JMS. The registrar issued a certificate to this effect on July 16 /21 ending all suspicions and informed joint General Secretary of the JMS Siddharth Gautam here while addressing the media here today.
Showing the certificate issued by the registrar of trade unions , Gautam son of former Jharia MLA Kunti Singh and late Surajdeo Singh and brother of Sanjeev Singh said, now any one missing name of the trade union ,its logo and letterhead would face legal action from JMS. He was hitting out at estrà nged uncle Baccha Singh, brother of late Jharia MLA Surajdeo Singh and father of Gautam who had formed a faction in his name and was running a parallel organisation.
The registrar has made clear that there is one JMS and that is being led by Kunti Singh, wife of late Surajdeo Singh, said Gautam. Gautam , who also is member of JBCCI-XI on behalf of central trade union Hind Mazdoor Sabha to which the JMS has affiliation too clarified that the registrar of trade unions had directed that those trade unions that were registered earlier Bihar to get registered with Jharkhand by October 31, 2019.
JMS had made an application with all relevant details and was declared the rightful JMS after verifications.
It’s worth mentioning that the late Jharia MLA had founded the JMS in mid-seventies and after his death his brother Baccha Singh wanted control of the union .However, Kunti Singh, wife of Surajdeo Singh stepped in and took control of the JMS. Seeing that Baccha created a faction but never gave an application for registration despite the directive of the registrar.
