Ever increasing demand of readymade projects is hampering the learning and creativity of the students, feel teachers of the schools in the city and experts. Some of the students find it a convenient way of completing their projects within the deadline, that also without wasting their time and skill.
“Difficulty level of the project and time allotted for its completion are the two main factors that lead the students to shops providing ready made projects” said Ashutosh Singh, a standard 10 student of Cambrian Public School.
Shops providing off the rack projects to the students for money can easily be found in the city and looking at the demand their number is increasing. Some of the electronic shops have made it their full time business as these projects fetch them good money.
“When we go to the electronic shops to buy components for the projects, the shop owners try to attract us by providing us the estimate in which they will make available the entire project” added another student. On the other hand an electronic shop owner claimed that they just guide students in completing their projects rather than constructing it for them.
On one hand some students of the state capital are opting for this shortcut as they wish to get the accolades whereas some of them still believe in exploring their knowledge and skills. “We want to make the projects by our own as it will increase our practical knowledge and skill,” said Vinod Mahto, student of a government school.
AK Singh, Principal of JVM Shyamali said, “We encourage the students to make the projects on their own without even downloading any thing from the Internet. Practice of getting ready made projects from the shops is discouraged by our school teachers and they keep a strict check on it. Such shops providing readymade projects should be banned.” He appealed the students and their parents to stop these practices so that the creativity and skill of the student is not killed.
