Two accused of a gangrape incident in Hazaribagh are yet to be arrested even after a week of lodging of an FIR and complaint by the victim. On December 1, a 15-year-old girl was coming to Hazaribagh from Ichak to meet her mother, who is behind the bars in Central Jail. In the midway, she met her friend Rishu Kumari, who was with her boyfriend Rajendra Prasad Mehta. Both accompanied her and on their bike, she reached Central Jail.

After meeting mother, on the request of Rishu Kumari, she agreed to go to national park with them. When the trio reached to national park, Mehta called his other two friends named Raj Kumar Mehta and Sikandar Mehta. Both reached there and joined them. In the evening, the boys allegedly raped the victim, while her friend remained mute spectator.

Next day, she reached women police station of Hazaribagh and narrated the whole story. Police arrested the victim friend Rishu Kumari and her boyfriend Rajendra Prasad Mehta and registered the case in which all four were made named accused.

Since then, a week has passed but police is still in search of two other named accused of this case. On the other hand, the victim is in deep shock and has kept herself inside the house of her grandfather in Ichak of Hazaribagh district. Both the absconding accused are also of same village so her relatives are also passing through the phase of panic and tension.

SP Hazaribagh Akhilesh Jha said that to nab the culprits a special team has been constituted and soon both rapists will be behind the bars. The team members have made raids on many hideouts of both accused but they are still out of reach. They will definitely come under the net of police as the team has got some important clues and identified those also who are helping them in remaining away from the hands of police, he added.

This gang rape case and the absconding named accused has now taken the shape of a big challenge for Hazaribagh Sadar police because on one hand the victim and her relatives are shocked and living in panic and they are looking at police with hope and justice.
