Power starved Ranchi is all set to get additional 200 MW of electricity supply since the Jharkhand Urja Sancharan Nigam limited charged its existing 132 kv Hatia 1- Chandil loop line on 220 kv Hatia II- PGCIl.
Informing about this CMD of Jharkhand Urja Vikas Nigam limited cum Power Secretary SKG Rahate said on Wednesday that with the additional power in the Capital there would be less power getting tripped in the case of some short in supply that often comes in the form of breakdowns in Sikidri hydel, PTPS and TTPS.
“We have worked on grid sub-station at Madanpur at Dumka and 220 kv Rupnarayanpur-Dumka transmission line which has been opened in July and Santhal Pargana is getting improved supply with 70-75 MW at present. 132 kv Jamtara-Madhupur line is also on trial,” said Rahate.
The Secretary also informed about the plan to roll out lED bulb distribution to power consumers.
One such bulb would cost Rs 100-105 to consumers against its market price of over Rs 500.
Under the programme every consumer can buy maximum 10 lED bulbs of 9 watt either through 10 month EMI option or by upfront cash payment. The bulbs would come with three year free replacement warrantee.
Initially the programme would be launched in three cities—Ranchi, Hazaribagh and Deoghar on November 15 that would be further rolled out in 40 other selected towns by March, 2016.
