Will inclement weather come in the way of the inauguration of the Medha dairy project at Gankey in Chiyanki Daltonganj by the chief minister Hemant Soren on October 4?
The weather is too bad. It is raining intermittently. There is 'darkness' in the day.
Such is the poor visibility that may eclipse the landing or taking off of the chopper at least for the day seen today.
Daltonganj has seen cancellation of the VVIP programmes in the past too all because of the extremely bad weather and it is extremely bad weather here in Daltonganj today.
In 1991 - 92 had come the then Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao to Daltonganj when all of a sudden weather had become too bad but since Rao had come by huge Army chopper it negotiated the bad weather quite successfully.
Again there had come Sonia Gandhi at the Chiyanki air strip. She had given her speech in torrential rains.
Raghubar Das the then chief minister had his visit cancelled here because of the bad weather.
The then Governor Droupadi Murmu who was to visit government degree college Manika in Latehar had to cancel her trip because the weather was too hostile as there was a very high wind and the chopper that was to bring her to Manika degree college was declared not suitable then read a government note on her cancellation of the visit then.
There is no issue of helipad now as there is a metallic H right at the Chiyanki air strip.
However the venue for the inauguration of the Medha dairy project is water soaked. Ashes are being used to 'dry the wet ground'.
On the other hand the DC Palamu Shashi Ranjan along with the SP Reeshma Ramesan, DDC Ravi Anand and their teams both civil and police officials are making hectic preparations for the visit of the chief minister Hemant Soren here on Wednesday October 4.
Officers were tasked and briefed right from the carcade from the Chiyanki air strip to the venue, a 3 minute Puja only, VVIP parking, general parking, to an over all exhaustive mandatory exercise for the chief minister visit here.
The public relation department here began calling media persons to give stamp size photo for press card for this CM programme late 1 o clock in the day itself.
