Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, who was in the State on Friday, spent about 45 minutes at Hazaribagh though his visit largely kept people of the town disheartened as they could not meet the leader.
Between 1:20 to 1:25 pm his chopper landed at PTC Ground and between 2:05 to 2:10 pm it was again in air on its way to Kujju. After his arrival, local Congressmen welcomed him near the helipad. Rahul shook hands with hardly 25-30 Congressmen who were in line and immediately stepped ahead towards the vehicle ready for his road show. From PTC Ground, the road show started and within minutes reached to District Board Chowk which is hardly 200 meters away. Here Rahul paid floral tributes on the statue of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. The carcade again stopped near bus sand where Rahul garlanded the statue of Bhagwan Birsa. From here the road show picked up its pace and crossing through Sadanand Road, Block Office Road, Korrah and Matwari concluded back at PTC Ground. The much propagated road show thus finished within 25-30 minutes.
Meanwhile, after the departure of Rahul from Hazaribagh a debate has started here that whether this visit will prove a gain or loss for Congress in future. The Congress workers were seen talking about it. Most of the workers were saying that this sort visit will cost heavily to Congress in future here. They were blaming the organisers for fixing such a programme in which their party’s vice president neither met with the general party workers nor the people of Hazaribagh. Many Congressmen gave their written complaints and suggestions to Rahul Gandhi when he was meeting with the Congressmen near the helipad. However the office bearers of Congress organisation are of the opinion that this short visit has boosted the moral of party workers and during next election it will prove a gain for us.
