Former Chief Minister and newly appointed BJP national vice president, Raghubar Das on Thursday dragged the Hemant Soren government in the line of fire for withdrawing welfare schemes initiated by his government and deteriorating law and order situation in the State.

Das, who has been inducted in BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda's team was given a rousing welcome on his arrival to party office. Das, who reached Ranchi from Jamshedpur via road, was greeted on route by BJP cadres and senior leaders. From Sadabahar Chowk, BJP cadres took out a motorcycle rally welcoming the former chief minister.

At the party office, BJP state president Deepak Prakash, two general secretaries, Pradeep Verma and Aditya Sahu welcomed Das.

Das, launching a scathing attack on the Hemant Soren government, said that the people of the state have become fed up with the Soren government in just nine months. He said that the Soren government has failed in all aspects, incidents of rape, murder, dowry deaths, criminal activities and other incidents have gone up. "The people of the state are feeling cheated as the Soren government has not only carried out any developmental works but rather stopping welfare schemes initiated by BJP government," said Das.

He claimed that in the present regime bureaucracy has become powerful and transfer posting has become a business. The former chief minister also spoke on farm bills introduced by the Narendra Modi government and Congress and other parties opposing it.

He said, "Gandhiji’s vision was to strengthen village industries and in this direction Prime Minister Narendra Modi government is working. With the new farm bills, farmers will become powerful as there will be no restriction to sell their agricultural produce. The Congress is opposing the farm bills because the grand old party is with middlemen and brokers."

Das also appreciated the Modi government's steps in increasing the MSP of major Rabi and Kharif crops.

Das said the party will launch a drive at village level exposing the double standards of Congress party for opposing farm bills. He said that the party will organise village chaupal and Khatia meet at village. The party will also take the help of intellectuals in exposing the double standards of the Congress party.

Das on his first visit to BJP party office after becoming the national general secretary thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda and other central leadership for giving such a big responsibility.

He said BJP is the only political party where a normal party cadre can aspire to become party president or hold other key posts in party organization.

BJP state president Deepak Prakash speaking on the occasion thanked the central leadership for giving key positions to state BJP leaders in the central team. Prakash said that Das is a ground to earth leader and he will work in strengthening the party at grass-root level.

Many senior BJP leaders including Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth, Hatia MLA Naveen Jaiswal, Kanke MLA Simri Lal and others were present on the occasion.
