Ranchi Durga Puja organisers are looking up to district police force to ensure peace and maintain law and order during festivities in the city. To this end, a delegation of Ranchi Zila Durga Puja Samiti submitted a 13-point letter to Ranchi SSP Prabhat Kumar on Thursday.
The memorandum included demands of deployment of extra forces, especially lady police personnel, during Durga Puja celebrations, licensing puja pandals, making arrangements for smooth traffic flow, introducing young members in Central Peace Committee and releasing innocents who were booked during the recent communal tension.
"We will be holding a meeting on Sunday to discuss issues like power supply and security in detail. The findings of this meeting will be shared with Ranchi SP, City SP and Traffic SP on Monday," said Munchun Roy, president of the Samiti.
