Normal life was affected in Jharkhand as the roads in the State remained deserted for the day as public transport was completely affected in the remote areas and no long distance buses plied on the roads except some two wheelers. The buses did not even ply from Ranchi. The Jamshedpur-Ranchi, Ranchi-Palamu, Ranchi-Dhanbad-Bokaro route was also badly affected.
Ranchi Rajdhani Express had a close shave on Saturday night as the Maoists blew up the railway track between Hehegarha and Chhipadohar stations of latehar, about 110 kms from the state capital Ranchi.
The Maoists on Saturday night targeted railway tracks and held up several trains for hours passing through the station during the bandh called by them against the killing of 10 cadres of CPI (Maoists) in the Kunda jungles of Chatra by its splinter group Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) on March 28.
