Tele-conferencing bridged communication gap between district officials and residents of Ranchi. The District Superintendent of Education and District Social Welfare officer were the two assigned officials for the teleconference with the public to hear out complaints, clear their queries and receive feedback.

DSE, Chhatu Vijay Singh attended 14 calls from the public. Eight of them concerning Education and literacy while the rest seeking information over educational infrastructure. “We have taken down the caller’s contact and information and would get back to them with concrete solutions after intra- departmental inquiry,” said Singh. Amongst the callers were Ramesh Mahto from Nagri, Prabhat Kumar from Lapung and Rahul Kumar from Burmu to mention a few.

District Social Welfare officer, Suman Singh said, “This is a great way to connect to the public. We received total of 4 calls today regarding the matters of Play School renewal, New Anganwadi Centres, Sukanya Samridhi Scheme and Kanyadan Scheme”. The officer got calls from Kanke, Angada, Burmu and Ranchi and has promised to look into each query with utmost attention.

In an attempt to serve better, the district administration had come up with the plan to organise tele-conferencing for the residents of the State Capital to directly talk to the officers from the administration on Tuesdays of every week to list out their grievances and get answers to their queries. Each week, officers from two different departments are assigned for this job.

“It not only facilitates easy governance channels a feedback system to directly get to the concerned official.

It is surely going to boost up the efficiency of the district administration,” told Amrita Singh, a resident of the State capital looking forward to more such conferences where people can reach out and get information.
