State BJP unit reorganisation was not taken in the team spirit by a number of workers and leaders as they came up with different modes of protests against the decision of State BJP president Tala Marandi here on Monday.
While some part loyalists who were ousted from the core team in the Sunday evening reshuffle chose to keep mum, a number of party workers thronged the party headquarters and lodged their protest outside the office staging an indefinite hunger-strike.
“We just want to know why a person, who has been inducted in the party six months ago was made the president of the youth cellIJ On what conditions and merits he has been chosen by the officials to lead the youthsIJ We will end our strike if someone clarifies the issues to us,” said a worker drenched in rains outside the BJP office.
Meera Munda, wife of former CM Arjun Munda sent a letter to State BJP chief Tala Marandi expressing her inability to join the new post of State Vice president owing to personal constraints. She also sent her resignation to Marandi in the evening.
Similarly, former Deputy Mayor Ajay Nath Sahdeo and Aditya Sahu also expressed their inability to join on the new responsibilities. Shahdeo was made General Secretary, while Sahu was made vice president. “I have made it clear that I will not be able to carry on with the new responsibilities due to personal reasons. I have also sent my resignation and put the issue on Facebook too,” said Shahdeo.
“Dear Friends, Thanks for your wishes and support. However, with due humility I would like to inform you all that I am unable to accept the responsibility of Pradesh Mahamantri, BJP, Jharkhand due to some reasons. I have also conveyed the same to Pradesh Adhyaksh Sri Tala Marandi ji. looking Forward for your support as always,” read his Facebook post.
State BJP chief Tala Marandi could not be contacted to comment on the issue, while one of the Spokespersons Kamal Khan said that such issues need to be discussed with the concerned persons privately. “Whoever is not happy or has any issues with the reorganisation, will be contacted by party officials. These are party issues that need to be sorted out amicably,” he said.
