Priya Raj of Indira Gandhi Balika High School (IGBHS) in Hazaribag emerged the State topper by securing 99.2 per cent in the results declared on Thursday. This is the highest marks scored by any students since the formation of the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) in 2003.

Priya obtained 496 marks out of 500, and secured 100 out of 100 in Mathematics, English and Music. Priya aspires to crack the entrance exam for Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and become an engineer.

Sharing her success mantra, Priya said that she did not have any fixed hours for studies. And instead she devoted her complete attention to studies even if it was for only an hour in a day.

“Whatever I have achieved is because of my hard work, teachers’ guidance and the blessings of my parents,” said Priya.

Originally a resident of Ranchi, Priya got admission in IGBHS in 2015. IGBS is one of the renowned schools in Jharkhand, with a reputation of producing successful engineers and bureaucrats.
