An order of the secretary education department K Ravi Kumar has foxed the government primary school teachers. The order signed on January 3 by K Ravi Kumar asks for closure of all primary schools till January 9 following an acute winter in the state. However the order asks for the continuance to the mid day meal during this period.
The order reads that MDM will be as usual for the students of class 1 to 5.
This has bewildered the government primary teachers. The teachers refusing to be identified said "This is a very contrasting order. On one hand the primary schools are to remain closed till January 9. It is a forced winter vacation. But what is the logic behind providing MDM to enrolled students during this forced winter vacation till January 9?"
The secretary education asks for continuance to the MDM as usual.
The teachers argue that by this order it means children are to be in the campus just for MDM not for studies.
These teachers argue that how will a teacher know about the number of children lining up for the MDM during this period.
These teachers said the best course ought to be to give them compensation for the MDM that the children would not have been enjoying in the schools.
Sources said the private primary schools etc will toe the closing order of the government till January 9.
