The city of cultural heritages is destined to add two more feathers to its crown after President Pranab Mukherjee reached here on Saturday evening to lay foundation stone of Rabindra Bhawan and Haj House on Sunday morning.
Though his stay in Ranchi and public appearance is considerably short, as he is scheduled to leave for Deoghar on Sunday morning itself after laying foundation stone, the administration as well as Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company limited (JUIDCO) has left no stone unturned to make the visit of the First Citizen a momentous one.
Other than Governor Droupadi Murmu and Chief Minister Raghubar Das, senior officials and other dignitaries were present at the airport to welcome Mukherjee, who was escorted to Raj Bhawan under tight security. President’s visit kept traffic personnel, administrative authorities and security agencies on toes throughout the day on Saturday with mock drills and necessary arrangements being viewed and reviewed.
Armed security personnel have been deployed at high rise buildings around Rabindra Bhawan site adjacent to Collectorate near Kutchery Chowk to keep vigil of movements of every single person at the time of President’s programme. Entire movement area of the President from airport to programme venue has been divided into six security zones with Magistrate and Deputy SP rank officials taking care of each one.
The President is expected to arrive at programme venue of Rabindra Bhawan at 9:45 Am, and is scheduled to leave for Deoghar at 10:30 AM on Sunday after laying foundation stone of Rabindra Bhawan and Haj House. He will be inaugurating Solar Power project, a heavy vehicle driving school and Software Technology Park in Deoghar on Sunday, from where he will move to Bhagalpur on same day. Officials, including DC Manoj Kumar, SSP Kuldeep Dwivedi, Traffic SP Sanjay Ranjan Singh, Urban Development Minister CP Singh and others visited Rabindra Bhawan venue on Saturday, and reviewed security, traffic and other preparation related works.
Rabindra Bhawan is among one of the most ambitious projects of JUIDCO. With a project cost of over Rs155 Crores, Bhawan will have a multipurpose hall and an auditorium with sitting capacity of 1,500 each apart from 20 guest rooms and four large meeting halls. However, one of the prime attractions of the project is going to be a metal tree weighing 10-tones welcoming visitors.
Meanwhile, otherwise littered and congested roads and streets of Deoghar wore new clean and beautified look before President Pranab Mukherjee arrives there to inaugurate a number of projects for the district. The 50 Km road stretch connecting Baba Baidyanath Dham Temple to Baba Basukinath temple is ready to remain lit through solar lights now onwards, as this is one of the prime projects which Mukherjee is going to inaugurate on Sunday. This 50 Km stretch is ready to be lit with around 1,650 solar lights, after four solar plants ready to generate 100 KW of power are inaugurated by the President.
Before Mukherjee inaugurates a heavy vehicle driving school and Software Technology Park too, he is scheduled to offer his prayers in Babadham Temple. The temple will remain closed for visitors from 10 am on Sunday till the President leaves Deoghar. Shopkeepers running their stores around temple have also been ordered to keep them closed on Sunday till Mukherjee stays in Deoghar.
