Ranchi University is all set for the 29th convocation scheduled for January 20. Different communities have been formed to make the grand event a success. For the first time, RU will felicitate the toppers of vocational courses in this 29th convocation.
Citing details about the ongoing convocation preparations, PRO Prakash Kumar Jha said, “list of meritorious students of the university has already been prepared by the university staffs. Apart from 37 students from various faculties, 10 other students from various professional courses will receive Gold medal along with the merit certificate. Approximately 1,814 students of 2013 batch will be presented certificates in the convocation ceremony.”
To manage the much awaited convocation programme, various committees have been formed for the convocation ceremony. “This year, the university has formed various committees to keep the track of an entire event. Organizing committee, core committee, advisory board, finance committee, media incharge and dais management, volunteers cum discipline committee, refreshment committee have been constituted,” added Jha.
As the convocation date is approaching, on Sunday 570 convocation gowns have been distributed among the students. Candidates can collect gowns on payment of `1,000 as the security deposit from the basic science building, RU main campus.
The guest lists have been finalised by university officials. CM Raghubar Das will be present as the Guest of Honour; HRD Minister, Neera Yadav will be present as the Distinguished Guest whereas Governor, Droupadi Murmu will preside and address the 29th convocation. Members of Syndicate and Senate along with former Vice-chancellors of RU will attend the convocation.
