The Bokaro Thermal police have seized 3 tonnes of stolen iron loaded in Bolero pickup van from Nisan-hut in Bokaro Thermal during raids on Wednesday evening and arrested one person in connection with the case. The police have recovered huge amount of iron which was stolen at BKB and CCl within limits of Bokaro Thermal police station, said officer-in charge Parmeshwar leyangi.
Police said the arrested trio namely Birendra Kumar is resident s of Nisan-hut located on the outskirts ofCCl residential colony. Officer in Charge said, “We had information that a iron lifting gang has assembled to smuggle the stolen iron. We raided at Nisan-hut location and could recover the bolero pick-up in which 3 tonnes of stolen iron was loaded .One person identified as Birendra Kumar, driver cum owner of the vehicle has been arrested . The trio used to steal iron particularly from BKP and CCl project in Bokaro Thermal .They used to assemble the stolen iron at some secret locations and later smuggle those to different destinations, leyangi added.
Police were trying to collect more information about such gangs and locations where the stolen irons were smuggled, sources said.
