A police team headed by officer-in-charge of Bokaro thermal police, Rajesh Kujur on Friday conducted raids in Hasanapani region about 4 km from here and seized 6 tonnes of illegally mined coals, said police sources .
According to police sources, the patrolling party laid trap at Beldartola near Hasanapani after a tip-off on illegal coal being transported from Kathara CCl mines to other destination. As per information, when the local Bokaro Thermal police reached at Beldartola at 5 am on Friday, 6 tonnes of stolen coal was dumped near a culvert, which was being stored by some local ladies.
Officer –in charge said that the operation was conducted following the directive of Bokaro Superintendent of police Y.S. Ramesh. Sources said coal is carted on local bicycle and begs and dumped near the Beldartola from where it is transported to other destination.
