Police have finally succeeded in recovering local BJP leader Madan Singh’s son Shivam Singh and two other kids along with their abductors on Friday from Chaibasa after 19 days of abduction. Sources said that four abductors were arrested during an anti-crime checking in Goilkera area of Chaibasa on Friday when they were trying to relocate the kids to another hide-out. Although police officials remained tight lipped over the arrests and recovery, Madan Singh said on Saturday evening that the family was happy that kids were recovered safe.
“Thanks to the administration that all the kids are safe. They are with the police where officials are conducting formalities to hand them over to us,” said Singh denying any ransom payment to the abductors, who had raised demand of Rs 20 crore of ransom on very next day of abduction for safe release of the trio. “The guys were honey-trapped through one of the acquaintances of Shivam Singh by Chander Sonar gang. They paid the girl a sum of Rs 5 lakhs for calling the guys where their vehicle was found abandoned in Balalong in Nagri area. When the guys reached there on a girl’s call, a Nagpuri singer and aspiring actress who had called them from somewhere else, the gang surrounded them in two vehicles posing as policemen and forced them to sit in vehicles. They turned the guys unconscious and took them to forests in Chaibasa. The guys were kept there until Friday when abductors sensed some sort of threat of being nabbed due to staying at one place for over two weeks, and decided to move to another safe hide-out. Four of them were arrested by the police in process,” said a source on Saturday. Notably, the police had formed SIT to trace Chutia residents Shivam Singh (16), Gaurav Singh (15) and Shanky (23) comprising Ranchi Rural SP Raj Kumar lakra, City DSP Rajkumar Mehta and DSP Headquarters Vijay Kumar Singh and couple of other officers including IT experts.
There were lots of speculations floating around regarding the missing of these cousins Shivam and Gaurav with their distant relative Shanky. They were said to have many female friends to date with and were also having expensive habits.
