The police action against conspirators of Friday violence has gained momentum as Ranchi police on Monday conducted raids at different locations; also the Governor has summoned DGP Niraj Sinha, ADG (Operation) Sanjay Latkar and other senior officials seeking report about Friday violence. Some people had formed a group spreading religious hatred urging people to participate in the violence. The police are now looking for the admin of this group.
The Ranchi Police is conducting raids in search of the rioters. For this, a raiding team has been formed by the Ranchi Police today. On the basis of the CCTV footage, the raiding team is busy identifying the accused involved in the violent incident and arresting them. Sources said that some hardliners from Uttar Pradesh had visited Ranchi creating plans for violence.
Meanwhile, on Monday when police visited various areas to arrest the rioters they had to face public ire. At Gudri Chowk, people protested police action when they reached the area to detain youths behind the incident. A section of Muslim women was noticed at the Kotwali police station. They were asking about two youths lifted from Moti Masjid locality under Kotwali police station area while police personnel were noticed driving them out from the police station.
While in other development Governor Ramesh Bais on Monday summoned DGP Niraj Sinha, ADG (Operation) Sanjay Latkar and Ranchi SSP SK Jha at the Raj Bhavan to seek reports about the status of the probe into Friday violence in Ranchi.
The Raj Bhavan Secretariat took stock of the law and order situation in Jharkhand. The law and order of the capital turned bad on June 10 when a strong mob attacked police and religious places on the Main road during the course of protest against the remarks by BJP’s Nupur Sharma against the prophet.
Also, a PIL has been filed at Jharkhand High Court demanding National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe over Friday violence. The petitioner Pankaj Yadav has requested the court to hand over the probe to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The petitioner has made Jharkhand government, Chief Secretary, Ranchi DC, Ranchi SSP, NIA, Enforcement Directorate and the Income Tax respondent of this case. He has also made Asaduddin Owaisi, President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen a respondent.
The petitioner in his plea has stated that Ranchi Police or Jharkhand Police can’t investigate and take to a logical conclusion as there is a larger conspiracy behind the violence.
