Hazaribagh police have busted an interstate gang of frauds and have arrested one member of this gang named Pintu Kumar Sharma from Shobh, Barachatty of Gaya district of Bihar. On Monday evening DSP Chandan Vats said that police have also recovered the Hyundai Eon car purchased from Hazaribagh agency three days ago by giving a fake bank draft.
Vats said that the manager of local Hyundai agency has lodged an FIR in lohsigna TOP that a person named Ajit Kumar Singh purchased an Eon car from his agency on Thursday and gave a bank draft of Rs 370000 to the agency. The draft was issued by Axis bank branch of Aurangabad Bihar. The manager and other staffs failed to identify the draft as fake but when they submitted it in bank, it was informed that it was a fake bank draft.
After lodging FIR Hazaribagh police started investigation and within three days traced the car and recovered it. The car was parked in Shobh village of Barachatty block of Gaya district of Bihar. The villagers said that Pintu Kumar Sharma alias Mistry has brought this car. The police team arrested Pintu Kumar Sharma who runs a coaching center in Simariya block of Chatra district and is a student M.Sc. physics.
During interrogation Pintu accepted that he is a member of a gang of frauds which uses to cheat people through fake drafts, cheques etc. Pintu has revealed some names of his associates and has informed that the gang members have made such fraud in Bihar, UP, MP, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Delhi also. He has also confessed that his gang started this technique of fraud by depositing fake drafts in different educational institutions and colleges of MP, UP and Rajasthan. The gang members are also involved in providing students to such institutions and colleges.
