The Giridih police on Friday busted a gang allegedly involved in online frauds by arresting its six members. All the six are educated young men who had allegedly been running a fake customer care centre in Giridih –a platform used by the accused to pose as verification agents of banks .They used to allegedly steal the database of bank account holders from the unauthorized online shopping websites and then indentify their targets,said SDPO,Giridih Manish Toppo
According to SDPO sadar, the accused were identified as Nemchand Mandal, Sandeep Mandal, Vikash Mandal, Amit Mandal, Brahmdeo Kumar Verma, and Pokhan Kumar, residents of Ahilayapur locality of Giridih district. In their mid-20s, the accused used to make fake verification calls to people posing as staffers of a customer care centre to get the details of their debit and credit cards, added SDPO .Disclosing the modus operandi of the accused ,the SP Giridih Akhlesh V Verier said that the accused used to call the debit and credit card holders on the pretext of solving various technical problems related to the cards or telling them that their cards could be blocked if they did not share their details ,SP said .
The police recovered six mobiles sets, 2 AT M cards, 10 sim cards and one motor bike from the possession of the accused. The police officials urged people not to give their details to those posing as bank employees or any agents.
GIRIDIH; With the arrest of two miscreants near Bandarkupi area under the Muffasil police station ,police claimed to have busted a gang of highway robbers ,who were walking on Palmo road in Giridih for committing crime .While seeing the police team criminals started fleeing .After long chesses police arrested both of them .The arrested were identified as Jadish saw and Ranjit Soni, resident of Jamuatard and Pathaladih in Giridih district .
According to police sources one desi katta, two cartridge of o .0315 and two mobiles were recovered from them.
