Palamu police, making a major breakthrough in the day light murder case of a notorious gangster Kunal Kishore Singh, nabbed one of the suspects identified as Vijay Sharma alias Guru ji in Ranchi who was brought down to Daltonganj on Sunday for his judicial remand. SDPO Sadar Sandip Kumar Gupta said one more accomplice of Sharma, identified as Rajesh Verma alias Fantus, too has been sent to judicial custody.

Gupta said Sharma have five cases against them while Verma has has cases against him. SP Palamu Ajay Linda said a special investigation team was formed with SDPO Gupta as its head to crack this case and in just 90 hours or so from the time of commission of crime the most wanted suspect was caught far away from Daltonganj in Ranchi on Saturday.

Gupta said it was by no means an easy task to nab Sharma in Ranchi where he was living in a two room accommodation.

Gupta further said the police had had a photo of Sharma which was some 4 or 5 years old and in this intervening period Sharma had put on lots of weight and has had small hair too making SIT difficult to get him but we got him. Gupta said once Sharma saw us his entire criminality sunk too fast and submitted to our team without making any fuss.

On being asked if for a deal of 15 lakh was there paid any advance to kill Kunal SDPO Gupta said “ Sharma is tight lipped on this point. We are to get another dreaded face Annu Vishwakarma  but un confirmed report said there was a cash down of 5 lakhs of rupees to kill Kunal.”

If the murder of Kunal was as tricky as any crime film where there took place head on collisions between the vehicles of the victim Kunal and his killers Sharma’s nabbing is no less a thrilling one for police in Palamu said sources.
