The seven-year-old girl, whose body was found last night from an under construction house at Karkatta villager under Bangaria Outpost of Chandankiyari police station in Bokaro district was raped before being murdered, police said.
“Prima-facie it seems that the minor was raped and killed later,” said B Tuti SDPO Chas. Police have collected several pieces of evidence from the spot and investigations are ‘on’, he said.
“Based on the complaint received from victim’s mother, police lodged a complaint and arrested one of his relative Chhotu Karmkar (30) in this connection,” said the SDPO.
“Mother of the deceased lodged a complaint alleging that Chhotu killed her daughter. We are investigating into the matter.
Three more persons were also taken into custody and we are interrogating them,” said Kartik S Superintendent of Police Bokaro.
According to the villagers the girl was playing in the village in the evening, but she did not return back home by night.
“We searched the locality and also asked others but we could not find her said a villager. Later we have started a search again and found her half necked body, smeared with blood in a nearby under construction house,” he said.
The father of the deceased is a daily wage earner, working at Maharastra, police said.
