On the directions of Acting Chief Justice, Jharkhand High Court, Justice DN Patel, National Award Winner Para legal Volunteer Basanti Gope was today admitted to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences by a special team of Jharkhand legal Services Authority here on Wednesday.
Gope, who was given the national award for best PlV in the year 2017, is suffering from cancer and was under treatment at a Chaibasa based hospital for several months. On the instructions of Justice DN Patel a special team of JHAlSA comprising member secretary Arum Kumar Ray, Jharkhand High Court legal Services Committee Secretary Santos Kumar, JHAlSA Deputy Secretary Sitka Prasad, District and Sessions Judge Chaibasa Manoranjan Kavi, DC Chaibasa Arwa Rajkamal met Gope on June 26 and looking at her critical condition decided to shift her for better treatment.
The team members also instructed Principal Secretary, Health, Nidhi Khare for proper treatment of Gope and DlSA, Ranchi to coordinate and facilitate treatment of Gope at RIMS. A team of DlSA Ranchi led by Secretary Fahim Kirmani received Gope at RIMS and admitted her to ICU. Arrangements have also been made for free of cost treatment of Gope at RIMS expenses of whch would be borne by the State Government.
