The move for tree plantation was taken up on Tuesday by Sai Nath University and Bajaj Electricals ltd on the university premises. The move was inaugurated jointly by Professor (Dr.) SP Agarwal, Pro-Chancellor, Sai Nath University, Ranchi;  Priya Ranjan Nayak, Manager, Commercial, Bajaj Electricals limited. Near about two hundred trees of Neem, Sagwan, Mango, Gamhar and Shahatut were planted in the University premises.

In the course of tree plantation Agarwal said that in addition to medicinal trees like Neem, Sarpgandha, Aswagandha , Stevia, Rudrakchh, Tulsi, some other useful trees like Aawla, Peepal, Mango, Guava, Palas, Amaltash, Gulmohar and Ashok were already planted in the university premises that are being well taken care of. One of the objectives of Sai Nath University Trust is to make the environment pollution free, raise ground water-level, stop global warming and soil erosion.

According to Professor Agarwal there has been a constant fall in the water level due to mines-excavation and other mining activates going on in the State. At present, there is shortage of ground water and most of the areas of Ranchi are suffering from the problem. It is anticipated that the shortage of ground water will take a horrible shape in days it come. The only panacea to falling    water level is tree plantation at this moment.
