For safer journey of women in the town, Palamu MP BD Ram, Garhwa DC Manish Ranjan, SP Sudhir Kumar Jha jointly flaged off 30 pink autos service on Tuesday, at Nilamber town hall. Garhwa is second town in the Jharkhand State where pink autos are plying in the town specially for women. Auto drivers with special identity cards who alone will be permitted to ferry women passengers, said Auto Association president. He also said that, at present, these autos will be driven by male drivers. However, for better security, the police will try to arrange female auto drivers for the pink autos. Driver licence would be fixed on the mirror of the autos and the drivers will wear their identity card around their neck.
